Roof Garden House, Kuala Lumpur

A standard developer house was required to be renovated to suit the new owner’s requirements and, although newly built, this house was dark and spatially awkward requiring major rationalising structurally, spatially and extending, particularly at the main living / dining areas.

A new living room constructed of off-form concrete extends to the side of the house bringing all the main living spaces to the same level and a new pool deck and pool were also added half a level down at the garden. A roof garden with covered deck is located over the living room.

The house was redesigned with sustainability in mind, thus natural ventilation is maximised and extensive insulation and PV panels added.
